Residents and visitors to our region will soon have access to direct flights to Melbourne thanks to a partnership with regional airline JetGo. The new service will provide a great economic boost, increase tourism, provide direct business links and be an attractive proposition for new events.

Council hasbeen working hard on securing direct Melbourne flights for many years, and this new service will see passengers saving more than two hours flying time, landing at Melbourne’s Essendon Airport. Flights are due to commence on November 7, this year (subject to regulatory approval), and will initially be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. with the service hoping to increase to seven days a week as demand builds. Development on the rise

You can’t help but notice the significant amount of development occurring across our region. We are certainly experiencing a period of unprecedented growth with more than $1 billion in value of development applications assessed by council inthe past fiveyears, with a 23 per cent increase in the last financial year.

This is an enormous amount providing us with a bright economic outlook, and whether it’s residential housing, industrial development or new infrastructure, council is committed to managing this development in a sustainable way.

This includes ensuring that we balance new development with a focus on protecting our natural environment, balancing community needs, providing value for rate-payer’s money and continuing to deliver community services in an effective and efficient way.

Council hasa handy tool, called an application tracker,so you can see the numerous development proposals and their status. Approved developments and notifications are also published in the local media each week. To find out more visit pmhc.nsw.gov419论坛/applicationtracker
