This year’s 58th annual Redland Spring Festival will be held on September 2,3 and 4, transforming the Redland Showgrounds into a bright hub of carnival capers for all ages.
RedFest offers a program that’s as tantalising as the famous Wellington Point strawberries that will be on offer.
Featuring jazz, blues and concert music, RedFest’s music program celebrates more than300 performers comprised of fresh talent and established artists.An impressive array of rides, activities and workshops make children and families the centre of attention, with over 50 attractions in sideshow alley.
In addition to all of this, a number of local sporting, animal, art and cultural organisations will display their skills. Quandamooka artists, dancers and Elders will showcase art, storytelling, traditional song and dance performances and children’sactivities as part of the greater Quandamooka Festival.
The famous Strawberry Eating Competition gets crowds pumped and jaws racing, as Redlanders battle it out to see who can stomach the most delicious Wellington Point strawberries in the fastest time. This delectable plight for speed and celebrity is a tradition at RedFest and celebrates the little red fruit that is the foundation of the festival.
Saturday night will finish with a sparkle as a spectacular fireworks display and the iconic lantern parade.Fun characters of all shapes and sizes float through the festival as a group of volunteers weave the lanterns across the grounds.
